iPhone Skin - Collision Course

This is the second phone skin I posted for sale today. It is the very first phone skin I ever made.

This drawing began on a whim. I just suddenly wanted to draw, so I drew. It was the first design I made intended for a skin. I had done a little drawing before this one recently, but nothing I could make something with. Except an awesome photo frame design, which you might just see up for sale some day.

I had no idea what I was going to draw. I just put on my headphones, played my Arcade Fire/Shins playlist, and it just came out. It only took about a half hour to complete. It flowed so smoothly and easily out of my hand.

I always have to have swirlies and colors in my drawings. My favorite part of this one is the purple and pink swirly thing. I don't know what it is. It reminds me of a dolphin jumping out of the water or something. My second favorite part is the "purple poof" coming out of the left hand side. That was the most complex part of the drawing. It took a little while for me to get the shading right on it. It includes several layers of pink, purple, and blue.

This drawing actually looks better to my personal eye on paper. I use this design in my photos and icons a lot because it is my very first drawing intended for sale. And it felt so wonderful drawing it. Here is the original. As you can see I tried to keep going, then I realized my breeze of inspiration was gone. So it was done.

After I printed it and put it on my black iPhone, I realized I was going to have to draw more black-based designs. This design would be perfect for a white iPhone. But it also partially made my phone look white for awhile, which was fun. :)
